HOMEWORK: Due on Tuesday at the beginning of the class following assignment on preceeding Tuesday. The assignments will be listed in the webpage. The homework will be graded and returned to you. Each problem will be graded on a scale from 0 to 10. The homework grade will be normalized at the end of the semester to 30 points. Solutions to all homework problems will be available on the webpage.

MIDTERM EXAM: There will be one midterm exam administered during class.  Class notes can be used in the exams.

CLASS PROJECT:  each student will have to write a short paper (up to 4 pages) using the format for Physical Review Letters (http://authors.aps.org/revtex4/), and prepare a 15 minutes Power Point oral presentation on a subject that will be individually assigned.
